I started a post to link with Sherry about what I'm lovin today and it got deleted while I was getting Oliver ready for bed. Frick.
I'll just tell you the two things that happened here recently. First I cut Oliver's hair on Saturday. It's not perfect but it'll do for now!!!
Second, my little guy managed to get his first mini shiner. He just bonked himself in the face with a plastic bath toy. Mom fail. I suck.
Well I'm sorry I didn't get to link with you Sherry. I've learned for next time to save, save and save again.
I hope everyone had a great weekend and your week is starting off perfect!!!!!!
Ugh, I just typed a whole lovely and lengthy comment here, and my stupid school's network disconnected me and I lost it. I guess I feel your pain now! I was chastising you for again calling yourself a mom fail. Letting Oliver play and have fun is not a fail. Kids get cuts, scrapes, bruises, etc. all the time...it is just part of the package. I let Brody get eaten alive by mosquitoes this weekend while playing in the yard (it was finally a little cooler and not raining and I was determined to have some outside play time). I usually am the first to detect mosquitoes because they love me, but I hadn't felt any. Brody, of course, is closer to the ground and still primarily crawls so I guess that's why they got him first. When I went to pick him up, he had one on his cheek and several more red spots on his face, arms, and legs. Does that make me a failure as a mom? Absolutely not! We were having fun.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you had the courage to cut Oliver's hair...I definitely do not. Plus, I am in denial that Brody's needs cutting yet. I love how soft and fine his hair is and that it is finally long enough for me to play with. Now Evan's is a different story...his hair is so thick and coarse like his daddy's and needs to be short. That last picture of Oliver is just adorable...those eyes! :-)
And so it begins.....you are going to HAVE to get used to Oliver getting injuries. It's the nature of having a kid, especially a curious boy. Didn't I just write a post about that? Ha Ha!
ReplyDeleteHe'll have to make up a good story to tell the ladies at day care.
ReplyDeleteYes, and Oliver is a boy.. so he is naturally more prone to bumps, bruises, and disasters! Caden has suffered numerous! I haven't braved the hair cutting biz yet because like Sherry, i'm in denial!
